3D printed Ceramics
3D Printed Ceramics
Just like any other ceramics you may be familiar with, the process begins with raw clay. In my practice, I use terracotta, raku clay, and stoneware. First, I wedge the clay and adjust it to the right moisture level and consistency. Then I load is into a canister connected to the 3D printer. The design is processed through a slicer, which is software that translates a 3D design into coordinates for the machine to follow. Then we're ready to go!
